Julia Sinelnikova is a multimedia artist currently based in Brooklyn, NY.

" My work is dialogue in symbols, action, reaction. I believe that process and collaboration of ideas, mediums, and people are vital in creation, especially in the complicated and overwhelming sociopolitical chaos of contemporary times. Much of my work revolves around a central figure surrounded and isolated by a landscape of colorful chaos or dream imagery, and with this imagery I interpret the feelings that swimming in today's explosively loud and crisis-laden world arouse within me. My process is about living instants apart from any time continuum, never in a vacuum, always there, true, and dangerous. Though I create my work in a breadth of mediums, it is always an experimental process; a lesson with a concept but no plan. I allow myself to start with a word, an idea, or an emotion, choose a visual element to represent it, and choose the next one based on how it complements the original and further expresses it. I incorporate pieces of modern and contemporary media to collage in my work, using them to ask questions about the way our society is progressing in the strange way that it is. "
